As if exercise, enjoying the great outdoors, and spending time with friends weren’t reasons enough to play golf, picking up a club on September 24 will help change the lives of needy families here in Northern Colorado.
The Timberline Windsor Golf Tournament, held at Pelican Lakes Golf & Country Club in Windsor on September 24, 2012, will support SERVE 6.8 and their service to our community.
SERVE 6.8 is an extension of the ministries of Timberline Church with a mission to provide encouragement and relief for people who are in need with no strings attached. In the wake of the High Park and Estes Park fires, SERVE 6.8 partnered with local and national organizations to deploy hundreds of volunteers to give thousands of hours sifting through the ashes of homes, clearing trees, and cooking meals for the teams. SERVE 6.8 is committed to strengthen lives and families in Northern Colorado through community initiatives including:
- Finally Home Foundation: Equipping communities to rally around heroes who are foster and adoptive families. 300 families served.
- Safe Families for Children: An alternative to foster care for kids and families in crisis.
- Building Hope: Home renovation and repair for families in need including single moms, elderly, those with disabilities, and foster and adoptive families.
If you want to be a part of making a difference, see the Timberline Golf website for more information and to register a team. It’s not too late to be a Title, Signature, Corporate, or Hazard Sponsor. Contact Troy Knuppel at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in being a sponsor or registering as an individual.
