The Love Reaches Blog is part of the Missions and Outreach Ministry of Timberline Church in Fort Collins, Colorado. This is the place where the stories are told and our hearts are shared. The missionaries, missions teams, pastors, partners in the communities, and the supporters of Timberline Church are contributors on this blog.
The ministry of Love Reaches is dedicated to the biblical mandate to take the Gospel to all the world and make disciples of all nations. This is lived out in our own community and all over the world. Our commitment is to grow and support local and global partnerships to serve others.
The core values that guide our involvement and investment in these partnerships are:
Transformational, rather than transactional. Our efforts should be grounded in transforming relationships between those serving and those being served rather than event-centered efforts with little opportunity for continued growth.
Holistic, rather than one-dimensional. Our efforts and those of our ministry partners should be responsive to the spiritual, economic, emotional, familial, and systemic needs of the people and communities we serve.
Collaborative, rather than isolated. In order to be good stewards of the resources God has given us, we should identify and connect with local assets and help facilitate collaborations of ministries within a community.
Empowering, rather than paternalistic. We desire to develop and support strong Christian leaders in the communities we serve, rather than leading from the outside.
We desire this to be a place where the work in missions can be told in order to encourage and strengthen the church as we strive to “Let Love Live” through active outreach in our own community, nation, and around the world.
