For over 20 years Timberline Church has held to an unwavering commitment to Missions and Outreach as core values that have shaped our identity as a church. As a Christ-centered church, we are dedicated to the biblical mandate to take the Gospel to all the world and make disciples of all nations.
This value is lived out in our own community and all over the world. Our commitment is to grow and support partnerships locally and globally to serve others. The core values that guide our involvement and investment in these partnerships are:
•Transformational rather than transactional – We believe that our efforts should be, as much as possible, grounded in transforming relationships between those serving and those being served, rather than event-centered efforts with no opportunity for continued growth.
•Holistic rather than one-dimensional – We believe that our efforts and those of our partners should be responsive to the spiritual, economic, emotional, familial, and systemic needs of the people and communities we serve.
•Collaborative rather than isolated – We believe that in order to be good stewards of the resources God has given us we should identify and connect local assets and help facilitate collaborations of ministries within a community.
•Empowering rather than paternalistic – We desire to develop and support strong Christian leaders in the communities we serve rather than leading from the outside.
Over the next month leading up to our Missions Celebration Week March 5-12, we will be spotlighting our church-to-church partnerships and how they are an intentional reflection of these core values.
