R. O. C. K. (Random Outbreaks of Community Kindness)

On Saturday, August 24th, hundreds of volunteers will be serving our community with no strings attached as part of the R. O. C. K. (Random Outbreaks of Community Kindness) event with SERVE 6.8.  After meeting at 10:00 a.m. at the Murphy Center, 242 Conifer Street in Fort Collins, for a short time of fellowship, volunteers will organize into teams.

Various teams will spend about three hours:

  • downtown giving out bottles of water
  • in the parks with popsicles
  • at Laundromats with quarters to help pay for people’s laundry
  • visiting nursing homes
  • possibly doing a few quick work projects at mobile home parks and other housing areas
  • and wherever else they can simply bless people with no strings attached.

This day of service ties into the One Day to Feed the World offering that same weekend and builds on Pastor Jeff Lucas’ message from August 3/4 abut the call to service (visit http://timberline.sermon.tv/mc/8958294 to watch).

Sign up in the mall this weekend at the SERVE 6.8 table or email jstrange@serve68.org to get on the list!
